My City in Nature

Tu Bishvat Family Event at the City Museum A guided tour exploring urban nature, followed by a creative workshop for creating a personal plant guide for the whole family.

During the tour, we’ll embark on a museum journey through visible and hidden pockets of nature in the city — from Yarkon Park, through community gardens, and all the way to the seashore. Together, we’ll discover the surprising connections between plants, animals, and the urban environment we live in. We’ll observe, ask questions, and explore small and big stories that tell the story of the encounter between people, nature, and the city.

Together we’ll ask:

*How has urban nature changed over the years?
*What would animals ask of the urban environment if they could speak?
*How does the city affect nature — and perhaps the other way around?

Through shared dialogue, observation, and curiosity, we’ll dive into the delicate and fascinating relationship between the city and its natural surroundings.

After the tour, we’ll head to the area near Bialik Square for a hands-on creative workshop, where participants will create their own personal plant guide. During the workshop, we’ll collect plants, choose, glue, draw, and write about flowers, leaves, trees, and shrubs — creating a personal keepsake that connects nature, creativity, and the urban experience.

The tour will be led by the museum’s experienced education team and will include approachable conversation, encouragement of curiosity, shared exploration, and creativity — a small Tu Bishvat celebration in the heart of the city.
